Our mentor, Louie, allowed us to take two frames of Chelsea. It was spontaneous! He was like,

“Oh, gusto niyo kunan si Chelsea?”

“Of course.”

“Two frames lang, ah. Go! Tina, ikaw mauna.”

I panicked!

It was a good thing I didn’t change my WB, ISO.. You know.. the whole hoopla. My classmates and I were in between taking behind the scenes photos/videos and taking photos of the actual shoot. We were all done in less than five minutes (I guess). It was that quick but fun. Girl scout mode.

Our teacher told us that she’s the Hermès Brand Ambassador of Guam. She’s so nice and bubbly. And she has flawless skin. /envy

This is Part Two of the shoot we did last September 17. Our class collaborated with Fashion Make-Up class and Fashion Styling class. We had two models for that day: Jasmine Baker and Katarina Nemcova. We were tasked to shoot six layouts (three for each model) with the following looks: beauty, glamour and avant-garde.

BTS: Beauty Shoot

This was the first photo shoot in our class where we dealt with studio lights! My first two layouts, you could tell that I was really nervous. All eyes were on you and the model. The photography, styling and makeup classes collaborated for this shoot. Our models were Katarina Nemcova and Jasmine Baker.

Makeup for the shoot started as soon as the models came in. Our class and our teacher went out to eat while waiting for the models. Louie, our teacher, told us to take BTS photos. We were kind of all over the place.

After two layouts, I loosened up a bit. I wasn’t nervous anymore! I was getting the hang of it!

We ended around 6:00pm. After packing-up, Jasmine, Chelsea and Louie wanted to watch MEGA Fashion Crew already. They’re part of the show, btw.

The shoot wasn’t that bad after all! I thought I won’t get good shots but it turns out I had pretty decent ones. I was really excited to apply all the things Louie taught us. Shoot number one was fun!

Sartorial Challenge / FIP

Our mentor, Louie Pariñas, gave us our very first task since starting with our course in Fashion Photography. We have to take photos of people ala The Sartorialist. My classmates and I were nervous about the challenge since we had to deal with strangers. He gave us two locations to do this challenge: High Street/BGC or Greenbelt. We ended up in BGC.

The challenge was postponed since the rain poured so hard. He told us to do the task within the week and submit the photos before Friday.

Yukie, Pam and I decided to meet up on a Wednesday to do our sartorial challenge. We decided to take photos of people in Greenbelt. Lol. I know what you’re thinking. We played sneaky. Coincidentally, we saw our teacher and the Styling Class and Ryuji (Styling Teacher) there. So we approached them just to say hi. Funny how things turned out. They gave us our fashion challenge for the day.

We had to take photos of fashionable people in an hour. They will call us where to meet up after. We were separated into two teams. I was teammates with Yukie and Rhea. Pam and Raizel were teammates. We went around in circles! We ran and walked in and out of Greenbelt 5.

We approached this guy who we think was fashionable in his corporate attire. Little did we know that he was the manager of Greenbelt 5! He asked if we had a permit and obviously, we didn’t have any. Some luck we had there. That didn’t stop us though.

“Love takes hostages. It gets inside you. It eats you out and leaves you crying in the darkness, so simple a phrase like ‘maybe we should be just friends’ turns into a glass splinter working its way into your heart. It hurts. Not just in the imagination. Not just in the mind. It’s a soul-hurt, a real gets-inside-you-and-rips-you-apart pain. I hate love.” —The Sandman: The Kindly Ones, Neil Gaiman

Hertz So Good (120911)

I met Roanna a couple of weeks ago thru Snitch Thursdays. It’s a weekly event thing in Attica. She took jazz and contemporary dance classes at Step By Steph a year ago. She invited me to this event where she will be MC-ing. It was her first time and she asked me if I could take pictures of her. I agreed since it was just in The Keg at The Fort Strip. It’s just 5 minutes away from where I live.

I haven’t been to a live MC-ing and Drum and Bass style gig (Dubstep, am I right? :/). I have to say that it was like being in an episode of Skins! The music where they go to clubs and parties was just like what I heard throughout the night. Awesome set!

What made this night so awesome was that I also met a lot of interesting people! DJs, musicians, photographers and radio jocks! Was pretty overwhelmed about it.

Here’s Show Suzuki and Katrina.

Roanna. You can catch her on The Daily Stew M-TH every 6-9pm. She plays awesome music I tells ya!

That’s F-Zero over there.

Nina Sandejas

Roanna and Tricia Garcia. She’s going to open for Lenka this October 9!

Roanna and John Joe.

Best part of the night was rubbing elbows with Francis Brew (or Francis Reyes). I had to ask Roanna to take photos of us because I might not see him again (up close)! LOL The last time I ever saw The Dawn play live was when I was still in college (That line really makes me feel old).
